Excellent!

The graphics are very interesting. Different storyline. HO are not too difficult, Once you figure out who the good guys are, game makes more sense. Music isn't too invasive. Going to buy this one.

Fantstic - Best Game I've Played

Everything on this games works well: The graphics and cut-movies are great. The different statues and personalities add so many dimensions. The story twists and turns. The items are very logically used and the fun "Helpers" make things very interesting. One warning: There are 2 endings. Depending on which object you have left (you have 2 at the end) is how the story ends. I didn't know that and just used the first one I grabbed. Now I'm going to have to play thing again to get to the second ending because if I had know I was making a choice - I would have chosen different the first time.

Fun to play - Great game!!

Didn't play the full demo as going to buy this game. HOS clear and not crowded and no click penalty (as far as I am aware#. The puzzles seem to be easy to understand and the storyline is different as the statues come to life #humorous in places!!# Love the cockeral at the beginning #won't say anymore). Short review as can't wait to get back to the game and definately recommend buying it!!!!! Well done BF!!!!! :)

Great to the last key stroke.....

This review is based on CE game play, casual mode. I loved this game and that's something I haven't been able to say about a game for a while. It had a great storyline that held together through to end of bonus play. Excellent, crisp, beautiful graphics, a good sprinkling of HOS and mini-games. Favorite things: --Map! Wish all games had this. The map allowed instant movement from one place to another, showed "hot" areas, and "not" areas. --No journal, but not needed as the map filled the gap --Music was light and unobtrusive, even during HOS so no need to turn music down --Very creative storyline and scenes - everything was beautiful with a slight air of menace.... --Mini-games where shamelessly easy, but creative and fun --Collecting the 26 mini-statues hidden in scenes was really fun at first mainly because the statues were so detailed and neat to spot. Toward the end it seemed they were phoning it in as the statues were indistinct or just a random gnome. Too bad. Not Favorite: --Clicking on objects during HOS was a bit imprecise, at least with my system anyway. I might have to click on an item two or three times to get it to select the item I wanted --the "disappearing/reappearing" inventory bar, gave me vertigo after a while. I'd prefer just to have the inventory shown at all times rather than pop up whenever the cursor hits that vicinity on the screen This is a terrific game. Very polished and well put together. I am slow and this game with bonus play took roughly 6 hours. Highly recommend!

Hallelujah!

After a couple of weeks of run of the mill offerings I was a very happy bunny when I saw this pop up! I looked at the video a few weeks back on the Dev site and thought I would enjoy it. I was right :-) Based on the demo: Game play is smooth and the graphics are clear and bright. HOS are junky but they have tried to make them a bit more interesting by using different perspectives and they have interactive elements. Puzzles are so far of a good standard and there are more of them than in usual HOGs. The game has a sense of humour which I really like, you also collect helpers as you go along which is kinda cute. it took me 45 mins to complete the demo but the file is big so I am hoping that the game is a good length. Having said that I don't care and am waiting for the DL to finish!!! Happy Gaming Fishies x

Love, Love, LOVE this game!!!

From graphics to each of the characters this game was awesome and the only con was that it was over way too soon. I wasn't through the demo before I was hooked. Like a great movie I'm playing it again to pick up on little cool things I may have missed the first go around and to just enjoy the characters who were awesome. The first game that I've saved a wallpaper for my desktop background which says a lot with all the games I've downloaded from BFG. It ended implying a continuation in the storyline so I can't wait for the next one. . .!!!

Oh Happy Day!!!!

Finally a game that fulfills all my expectations and already I am doing the snoopy dance. Our story begins in the town of Martlet and as the Royal Detective, you have been summoned to rescue the citizens from the mysterious statues that have come alive and are raising havoc. As you watch the opening scene, a beautifully drawn world appears before you. Albeit the graphics are a bit blurry but the artwork is beautifully drawn. And so you venture forth and you discover that you are not alone in this adventure: you have an adorable little friend called Rupert with a cut Voice Over who acts like a talking journal and recites the story as you play. In addition he breaks things that get in your way and also provides you with hints depending on what mode of game you are playing; there are three play modes to choose from. You aso have a pet Rooster that grabs objects far from reach. You have options for wide or full screen, custom cursor and different sound effects. Your adventure requires you to collect objects by playing HO scenes that are interactive, solve puzzles and play mini-games. You also have a fantastic interactive map that not only shows progress but can take you to locations. So no need for those running shoes. As an extra bonus, you also need to collect miniatures that are hidden throughout the game and there are achievements and awards to gain as you play. This game is a CE that offers you all the bells and whistles that we gamers expect . Visually the game is beautiful, at times scenes do become grainy but nevertheless, alot of work has been put into this game. Puzzles and minigame are unique and there is a good degree of challenge in the game so everyone will definitely be pleased. However fear not, there is the Strategy Guide which will come handy from time to time. It is indeed a Happy day for me as I go on to purchase this game and continue on my quest to save this town and solve the mystery of the living statutes.

Royal Detective: The Lord of Statues CE equals Royal fun!

Just finished the demo; this is a must have for me. Clear, bright scenes, no rain, just a gentle snowfall, and not a skull so far! The story line is unique, fascinating, fun and the lines between good and evil are clear. As a detective, I'm supposed to figure out how to solve the problems (and fix the town) with the items I've collected, and some of these items are truly unusual, such as a rooster statue who can now fly! Some of the HO scenes are a little blurry, but they are also interactive, which makes them more enjoyable. I was drawn into the game immediately, and I love the idea of working with statues rather than werewolves, crypts, and ghosts of miserable people...although I DID enjoy the Mark Twain and Salem Witchcraft stories. This game has everything, adventure, challenge, originality, and a sense of humor, as demonstrated by the droll little fellow on the hint button. What's not to like?

Will buy

Yes, definitely on my 'to-buy-list' after playing the demo. All the things I love best about Hogs - excellent graphics, nicely interspersed mini-games - easy to move about and logical next steps! There's also a map :-) A hint of myth and mystery in the storyline and there are achievement awards to add a bit more punch to the gameplay. Great game.

Wonderful Game

Many of the games lately have not held my attention and needless to say, have not purchased them. This is a gem that caught me from the start artistically, challenging and fun. As I tend to start out a little slow because I examine everything before I start and look out for all the details, I never get too far into the demo before I run out of time. The art is beyond gorgeous, Rupert has a voice that takes you along the storyline without being annoying or monotone and the games are enough to keep you interested. The game has three levels and since I was doing the demo, I started with casual. I like the rooster who can bring things to you and the strategy guide which is very imformative regarding the different achievements, collecting the miniatures and stays were you last left off. The map is extremely helpful with it's different colored buttons of where you can go to do tasks(gold#, where you need to go back to #silver# and where you can't go #broken). Didn't need to use the hint button so not sure how long it takes to fill. Overall I had a great time playing this game and will be purchasing it as soon as I finish my review. This game is not for those who do not enjoy fantasy or fairy tales.
