Loved it! Good combination of different puzzles and HOS on one side and magnificent graphics on the other - beautifully designed locations, clear images and perfect snowy and cold atmosphere - nice music in the background, good voice overs - excellent storyline, you, as a detective, must find missing children who were kidnapped by the Snow Queen. In order to do so you must travel to her Kingdom and discover her plan and what actually lies behind disappearance of numerous kids . - 3 modes in the game: casual, normal and hard - optional tutorial - you don?t have a journal but there is a very useful map that shows your current objectives and areas of interest - hint is recharging fairly quick but if you are skipping puzzles that will disable hint button for 5min - HOS ?good, in this case fragmented object scenes, mostly clear, but there are some in which objects are harder to find - so many different puzzles, colorful and fun, I enjoyed every single one of them Definitely 5 stars from me!!
This is an absolutely stunningly gorgeous game with excellent game play, detailed and clever hidden object scenes, interesting puzzles, and a solid story which will hold your interest. The developers have shown a tremendous amount of attention to the smallest of details. As indicated this beauty is one of the very top games of 2011 and should not be missed.
The graphics were wonderfully colourful and clear, but I can't comment on the sound, because I'm deaf. I can say, however that, unlike some games, this one didn't need a sound track to tell the story. The sub-titles had it all covered. The game itself gave me plenty to do and the puzzles were just the right degree of difficulty to let me feel a tingle of achievement once they were solved, without making me tear my hair out first. Heartily recommended.
This is a really enjoyable game. Has all the Dark Parables items that made the first 2 so good. It makes for a nice, relaxing play. The graphics and cutscenes are stunning, the storyline good. The HOs and puzzles are above average without becoming annoying. Like the previous ones you collect the little bonuses which are always fun, and have morphing items which are fun as well. Also had a map which was somewhat helpful. Has different levels to play which I think is always a bonus. For me this is a very enjoyable play and will play again with the first 2. I ended up buying the CE which I really enjoyed, included a nice bonus play. I highly recommend this game and the other 2 as well.
Wow, what a well executed game. Full of style and beauty. The story is well played out with a good ending. Enjoyed it from beginning to end. The dev team put much time and thought into this. It's well worth supporting their efforts. The graphics are excellent and set the tone perfectly. Everything about the world is believable. The puzzles and achievements have many layers. You can continually find items that add to bonuses, ie faster hint renewal, complete a set to unlock a background story (6 sets in all I believe). The HOS are unique in that you're shown the items to find instead of words. Very cool! There is a mini-map that shows areas of interest and objectives to be completed. Very helpful considering the amount of detail of each area that makes the game world seem bigger and more diverse. The artwork is top-notch. The music and sounds blend with the atmosphere seemlessly. Snow Queen is a game of quality AND quantity. It isn't short. Yet it isn't so long that it becomes tedious. Not at all. I'd play awhile, leave, then come back for more. Overall, it's an enjoyable experience worth investing time & $$$ for :)
an interesting story line with a weird mystery at the end
i have really enjoyed playing all the Dark Parables games. they are beautifully drawn out to the highest details. the story lines are fantastic and the graphics are great. keep them coming blue tea games. i love them.
Wow, this game will keep you guessing about the story line. I didn't want it to end. The artwork is spectacular, the music is perfectly suited to the scenes. The fractured objects are well hidden, but not too hard to see. The morphing objects were not too hard to find, but I had 19/20 and just couldn't find the last one and had to refer to the walkthrough. The minigames were challenging, but not frustrating. It was a long playing game that I definitely recommend. Blue Tea does it again!
I couldn't believe how crisp, clear, and absolutely gorgeous this game's graphics were when I first demo'd it. I just finished playing and boy, was it an experience! There's so much to see and do that I frequently got lost wandering around and through the rooms but, between the walkthrough and the not-always-helpful map, I managed to complete it. I only resorted to the walkthrough late in chapter 7 when the map didn't point out any more objectives or places of interest, and the hint button just kept giving me the "there isn't anything to do here" kind of message that leaves you hanging. The confusion in this game for me was the fact that every room and hallway was so intricately detailed and colorful that I'd forget where I first saw something and the images just sort of melted together in my head. When objectives or places of interest were clearly marked on the map, then navigating there was very easy although the map is not transportive. Hidden objects scenes were in the form of fragmented objects, which are always a nice diversion from the usual word lists that we're so used to seeing. At least the pieces were actually from the objects themselves and not in silhouette form, which I don't like as much. You have to revisit some of the same HO scenes again but you always get new objects to put together. Sparkles indicate both puzzles and HO scenes. The puzzles are varied and fun and all can be skipped. I always play in the easiest mode because I want to move along in the story and I like having the extra help available when I need it. The only glaring blemish on this game is the ridiculously LONG hint button which takes FIVE full minutes to refill! Why should it take so long for the easiest play mode, devs? Oh, there are 20 morphing (called 'cursed') objects to find also. Finding them reduces the refill time for the hint button so I guess that's why they start with five minutes first. It gives you the incentive to actively look for them, although it does slow down the gameplay because they are fr
Exquisite art work by true masters and enchanting story-telling help transport you to another world. The puzzles have the right amount of challenge (you don't forget what game you are playing when you try to solve them). I am totally immersed in the story and frankly don't want the game to end!
