Expansive search area with lots of adventure, places to go and things to snoop in! Heavy on adventure, with some HO. HO are very well integrated, some monochromatic ?bluish/gray?, does hide items well. Puzzles are interesting and vary from the regular we normally get, and slightly more difficult than usual. Voice over throughout the game, and it is well performed. Integrated strategy guide, journal, and no map. The search area is expansive and a map would have been nice to help remember what is where, or even teleport. There are 3 options to play and advanced did not have sparkles! You are able to access the option to change play difficulty any time while playing. The hint button does take a while to fill (3 minutes?). Music is pleasant enough, but I?ve never had issues with music in these games. You have the option of turning it off. WIDE SCREEN!!! And it filled my 15? laptop. Graphics are painted, well done if a little on the blurry side (think they do this to try and make it more ?spooky?). While slightly blurry, still clear enough to enjoy. It?s exciting, spooky and if you like adventure/investigating pure enjoyment.
I just have to say how much I enjoyed this game! The graphics are superb, the story line is great & I didn't really find anything I didn't like. The music was even good; spooky to go with the game. My hour was up way too soon & this is a definite buy for me.
As a detective, you have to find a killer who is terrorizing a small town. Lots of interesting characters and great VOS. HOS non-interactive, and a lot of them, but not too junky and fairly clear. Lots of seek and find, too. Beautiful graphics, nice, tho repetitive, music. Good puzzles. No map, so you have to do some walking. Good length, with the bonus chapter that wraps up the story, over 6 hours on casual. Enjoyable game.
This game was awesome! The playtime alone makes it worthy of the CE price. The plot is interesting and the story line is dark and fun (just how I like it!) I played this game all day today (literally) and just finished the bonus game. It was really enjoyable. The puzzles are not too bad but skipable if you get stuck. There are a lot of HOS and some of the items are pretty hard to see because of the graininess of the images, but again, the hint recharges fairly quickly. There are a lot of different scenes and the game is quite long. I used the SG a good bit because I was in a "what do I do now" kinda place, and unfortunately, there is no map to zip back and forth with. That is really my only gripe with this game. Otherwise, I HIGHLY recommend it! Great game and very fun and worth the CE IMO.
Interesting plot with cool puzzles and some nicely done HOS 3 modes of gameplay: casual, advance and hard Strategy guide There is only a journal, sadly no map because I was a little bothered due to constant moving back and forth in search for different clues Puzzles are definitely what makes this game worth playing, cleverly designed, challenging, and also besides some well known there are some new and really fun to solve HOS are good, classic, no interaction, good visibility, but over all nothing special I must say that graphics are quite remarkable, creepy locations are done very well, no dark areas with bad visibility, clear scenes Music is ok, creepy sound effects really made atmosphere to be more intense As for the storyline, nicely put together, kept my attention through the game Verdict: definitely try it out, because for me this adventure was worth spending time on!
Its nice to be first to review a game. My review is only based on the demo. Basically you are investigating a curse. The graphics are great, the HOS scenes are good you really have look for the items. The puzzles I encountered in the demo are challenging made you think which is what I like. This tells me the rest of the game is definitely something to look forward to. You are going back and forth a bit but I don't mind that. The music isn't bad to listen to either but if you don't like it you can always mute it. If you get really stuck there is a built in strategy guide. As I said I have only played the demo but I would definitely put this on my list to buy So go on give it a try you'll love it I did
Even after playing just a few minutes of this game, I was sold on it. It has beautiful graphics, great storyline and voice overs. Looks like there will be a good balance of HO scenes and adventure. Haven't played enough yet to see how well the puzzles or mini games might be but this just looks like a well enough developed game that I would definitely purchase. As a detective, you must find out what happened to the lawyer of an heir whose family has been under a witch's curse and there are times you will encounter her ghost. A game that should keep you interested!
I'm surprised I really liked this game since its not very famous around here. Not only was the storyline really interesting, but the artwork was one of the most beautiful I've ever seen in a HOG! Pros: - Bee-uhh-tee-ful graphics! It was amazing to look at all those beautifully drawn locations. The best one in my opinion was the entrance to the Gale castle. Just wow; - The music was actually pretty nice, but only in the piano parts. The heavy orchestral part annoyed me since it didn't fit well with the investigation; - The ambient sounds were beautiful. Really soothing to listen to; - There were a not-so-little amount of hidden objects scenes, but I didn't grow tired of them at all! What a feat!; - The storyline managed to keep me on the edge of my seat to find out who the murderer really was. The witch or someone very alive? - This game is huge! It took me alot of time to finish and that's amazing since I really liked it and it didn't drag along; - I really felt like a detective reading all those files regarding the background story of the families and bumping into all those dead bodies!; - There were a lot, and I mean a lot of beautiful places to explore!; Cons: - I felt a bit disappointed and curious because it's never mentioned what happened to Samuel after all...; - The bonus chapter was a little disappointing to me since it didn't offer anything new despite some new small locations. The main game is much better; And that's it! I loved playing this game and I spent a lot of time on it. It's an amazingly created game with interesting characters and it offers you not only a mysterious and well crafted story but also a beautiful visual experience. Pure art.
The last few CE games I have purchased haven't been worth it, so I was VERY cautious about spending 2 credits on this one, but the demo (which is wayyy too short)hooked me. I am SOOOO glad I did! The game play time was really substantial, which I liked a lot. the visual effects were gorgeous, as well as the music. The puzzles varied in their difficulty, and I liked that. The plot may have been done on lots of games, but hey... I like me a good murder / curse mystery, LOL! It had a couple twists at the end that I didn't see coming. This is well worth the CE!
Sometimes even good games fade towards the end but not this one. This game did not falter with its story line. The Bonus Chapter was revealing. The art work was terrific and I appreciated the ability to swap modes. I am one who likes not having to resort to the SG and the mode switch allowed me to bootstrap myself from a hopelessly lost status. Good work development team you pulled off a great production.
