:o)) This is my favourite type of game :o))

I love everything about this game such as ... * I love the storyline because it is about building a thriving settlement * I love the clarity of the graphics, the style of which really suits the game * I love seeing all the bright colours used * I love the cute little touches that have been given to the characters * I love trading to earn the money to build and then upgrade everything * I love the fact that knowledge is acquired a lot quicker than in certain other games of this type ;o). * I love that they will feed themselves when hungry * I love that once set a task they will continue * I love that the timers (which are only in the quests) are generous enough so that even using my arthritic hands I can manage to complete them in time to earn the bonuses. * I love that I surprised myself and managed to defeat all the pirates that I have come across on three different occasions. Most of all * I love that you get so many more hours of pleasure for your money. It is a fantastic game and I hope the devs make more like it.

Awesome take at something different!

The game was something like virtual villagers, but speed up that you can see results of you`re work not playing the game for too long. There are many achievements, that make the game interesting even after you beat it. I really enjoyed the graphics and animations, sure they were cartooney, but they looked really good. I think the gameplay is good, because the game doesn`t allow to do the same thing, and forces you to change strategies. And also the fact that you get quests that tell you what to do to advance in the game, because the last thing all the players want is to get stuck and frustrated. Overall i really liked this game and i am still playing it. I recomend this game to people who like Last Day of Work games, and also to those who think that their games are too slow :).

Beautiful game

I bought this game after a few minutes into the demo. After playing it for some hours I had to force myself to stop! This game is not really a Time Management more like a Sim. It says that you can play as you wish but there are plenty of guidelines given in game which act as tutorial. The speed is not controllable so at times it may get boring, when towards the middle of the game you need many resources to upgrade your buildings or research. I guess a more strategic use of my earlier choices could have saved me of that. Graphics, music, story are pretty nice and blend nicely together.

Cute Game!

I played the entire demo and then had to buy the game because I couldn't bear not knowing what happened to my colonists! :o) A great, stress free game. No clocks to work against, and you get quests to help you advance further in the game. I really like this one!

I Just Love It!!

What a neat game! I am only half way through the demo and used a credit to buy....highly unusual for me! It's a nice change and the characters are cute...give it a try if you want some fun!

I'm already wishin' & hopin' for The Promised Land 2

Finally! I can move Rover over, grab my laptop and play the night away. If you like a fun, light-hearted strategy game (dealing with those pesky pirates gives me the giggles every time), this one is for you. I was about to give up on Big Fish, I was so tired of all those dark, spooky, depressing games, but this one game makes up for all the frustration of finding a game I like (No offense to those who like them, to each his own). The controls are easy, not a lot of clicking, mostly drag and drop your characters, and you can progress through the game at your own speed with no time constraints, just goals and suggestions. It was a quick buy for me, my only complaint is that I would like more of it....Promised Land 2 ?? This is a good one for little old ladies like me who are not so quick on the click anymore and look for relaxing, and fun games.

Its Like Virtual Villagers!

I love this game! Its just like Virtual Villagers. I was bummed when my hour ran out, soI'm heading ot buy it now. Good game interface and everything is logical inside of it!

Not had this type of game for a while

If you loved 'Artists Colony' or 'virtual villagers' - this game is for you. It's so enjoyable to play but i restarted it about 3 or 4 times (I got it from another gaming website last week) - i made the mistake of not gathering enough food. Unlike virtual villagers, you don't have deaths and births - as soon as you get enough money you can 'buy' apprentices to work in the forge, laboratory, kitchen , and other places and also get them to gather food and chop down trees. You start with 5 apprentices - each of them loves to do different jobs - if you stick them in a job they hate, they get 'ill' quickly and have to go to the hospital to eat healing herbs. I'm nearing the end of the game and it has taken me days to do this with about 5 hours gameplay per day. I now have 40 workers and have built and enhanced most buildings. The only thing I really have left to do is clear the gold mine ....It's such an enjoyable game - but I would have preferred the lab research to be a bit swifter (to enable upgrades for skills in nature, sailing, agriculture, archaeology, construction and building). There is a mini game included which is a type of angry birds game - but you kill pirates instead!

Sim meets time management

Always wanted to enjoy the sim type games but they moved so slowly well this game was the answer to my prayers. You have the people to manage and train but they get there at a good pace that doesn't leave you twiddling your thumbs for days on end or looking desperately for something to put a little kid on to pick up cause there isn't anything else to do. It has good graphics and a good story line. It is a two thumbs and even two big toes up for me on this one! :D

This game makes me smile!

This is a fun game that is low pressure but still takes a bit of thinking and getting your priorities straight. If you import too many new people before you can house them, they stand around an do nothing. If you don't balance your work crews you have to wait around until thing get up to production before you can move on. It is sort of a cross between the Virtual Villager and the Island Castaway games. I don't know if it keeps playing while you are not there as this is my first break. The cartoon characters are fun and easy to manipulate. There is no marriage or reproduction, you import new people from another area of the game. All the tasks are interrelated and It becomes impossible to do them if you don't pick the right order. If you sell the wrong products or too much of a product you get stuck until you build your supplies again. I could just keep blabbing on about this but bottom line is that I'm having a really fun time playing and you might too.
